Sultan Ibrahim I in the world political arena despite the ardor and courage, Ahmed was not lucky in the hostilities. In the war with the Persians, the Ottom’s detachments suffered a crushing defeat, so the Azerbaijani and Georgian lands left the enemy. Subsequently, the padishas tried several times to win the territory, but not one of the military operations was successful.
During the battle with the army of the Austrian Empire on the lands of modern Hungary, Ahmed had a real chance of victory.
The Turkish troops even managed to capture the fortress Estherg, but because of the advantage made by the commander in chief, the advantage was on the side of the enemy. The Ottomans had to sign a peace agreement with the Habsburgs unprofitable for them and abandon claims in the territory. Inside the country of the new ruler, the people loved very much: he did a lot both for ordinary residents and for the external appearance of the Turkish capital.
During the reign of Ahmed, one of the main attractions of Istanbul was built - the Blue Mosque. In the year during heavy fires, the ruler showed personal courage, taking part in the extinguishing of fire. This added popularity of the already respected padishah. So it was before the appearance of Mahpeker Kesem Sultan, having met which the padishes literally lost his head. According to some evidence, the real name of the girl is Anastasia. The heiress of the wealthy Venetian was captured and made by a slave, after which they brought the Ottomans to the palace. Having become part of the harem, Kesem eventually turned into a favorite concubine of the Sultan, and then became his wife.
It was she who gave birth to the ruler most of the heirs. Death in his youth Sultan heavily suffered OSPU, and in the year he was struck by another infectious disease - typhoid. The court healers could not help their Lord, and on November 22 he died. For the empire, this was a serious blow, because by that time the heirs of the Sultan were still very small, and the only brother could not rule due to mental illness.
However, the sofa nevertheless decided to put Mustafa to the throne. Two years later, he was replaced by the grown son of Ahmed, Shehzade Osman. The young man ruled for a short time - as a result of the conspiracy, he was killed, and Mustafa was again returned to his place. After some time, Kesem managed to shift the demented ruler and put another son - Murad IV on the throne.
